After a strong performance at the Mount Holyoke Invitational in MA last month, the women’s golf team returned to action at the Landmark Conference Fall Invitational. The Rangers placed first in the conference, beating second place Catholic by 13 strokes.
In the tournament, Cathy Bi (‘22) repeated as the Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week, tying the school record by shooting an 81. Originally from Beijing, China, she has won two Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week awards in her first month on campus.
Following up their impressive seasons last year, Kristine Masseria (‘21) shot an 88 and Lucy Lamb (‘21) shot a 94. Natalie Stilo (‘22) shot a 94 and Cassidy Conklin (‘22) shot a 99 in their second career matches.
As for the rest of the conference, Bi beat Scranton’s Emma Nimitz by five strokes. As for the Landmark Conference Championship in the spring, Drew will be home at Fox Hollow on April 27-28.
After the Rangers’ home match at Spring Brook Country Club in Morristown was cancelled due to weather conditions, they return to action at the Stevenson Invitational in Upperco, MD on Thursday, Oct. 11.
The men’s golf team also returned to action this week, competing at the Muhlenberg Invitational on Monday, Oct. 1 in Allentown, PA. Matthew Singer (‘22) led the team, shooting a 7-over 76 to land him in a tie for 10 place among a field of 84 competitors. This was his personal best for the season. Lucas Artigliere (‘22) and Luis Ng Tang (‘22) both shot a 77, tying for 17 overall. Rounding out the team scoring were Michael Bliss (‘21), shooting an 81, and Ryan Fitzsimmons (‘21), who shot a 87.
