The men’s golf team neared the end of their fall season, competing in the McDaniel Mason-Dixon Invitational in Abottstown, PA on Oct. 6 and 7. After the first day, the Rangers shot a 325 over 18 holes. All five Rangers finished within five strokes of each other, with Lucas Artigliere (‘22) leading the Rangers with an 8-over-80, tying for 51 in a field of 90 competitors. Michael Bliss (‘21) followed close behind carding an 81, finishing in 57 place. Giovanni Albano (‘22), Ryan Fitzsimmons (‘21) and Luis Ng Tang (‘22) also competed for the Rangers.
On the second day of the tournament, things picked up for the Rangers as Artigliere broke the school record for the best 18-hole round, shooting a 73 on Sunday and finishing with an overall score of 153. This was good for a 21 place finish overall. Fitzsimmons also improved Sunday, dropping three strokes to shoot a 79 on the second day after shooting an 82 the day before. His overall score was 161, good for a tie for 61 place overall. Albano finished with a 164, Bliss carded a 166 and Ng Tang rounded out the Rangers with a 170. Overall, the Rangers dropped six strokes from Saturday to Sunday, carding a 325 on the first day and a 319 on the second.
Drew finished 15 out of 17 teams competing. St. John Fisher won the team title for the tournament and Shawn MacBurnie from McDaniel College captured a first place finish.
The Rangers finish their fall schedule on Oct. 20-21 at the Landmark Conference Fall Invitational.
