The men’s golf team completed their fall season on a high, earning third place at the Landmark Conference Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21. On the first day, the Rangers were able to tie the program record for 18 holes, finishing the day with a team score of 306.
Luis Ng Tang (‘22) dropped one stroke from the program record, shooting a 72 for the day. Teammate Lucas Artigliere (‘22) had just set the record at the Rangers’ previous match. Artigliere finished the day with a 74, close behind his teammate. Ryan Fitzsimmons (‘21) was not far behind with a 76, while Michael Bliss (‘21) and Giovanni Albano (‘21) were also in action.
On Sunday, Fitzsimmons came from behind shooting a 74, marking his career low. He finished in second place overall behind Goucher’s Julian Gonzalez. The Rangers shot a 321 on Sunday to finish in third place; Goucher College captured the title and the University of Scranton came in second. Artigliere tied for fifth overall, after shooting an 81 on Sunday. Ng Tang shot an 89, to place him in 15 and Albano tied for 31 after dropping three strokes to shoot an 82 on the second day.
The Rangers will next be in action in the spring semester.
